Since 1901 Starita has delighted Neapolitans and tourists with its specialties, the result of tradition and the dedication of four generations of Starita.

Founded by Alfonso Starita, the restaurant was established initially as a cellar, and then at the end of the 1940s it became a place for tasting, not only of wines, but also of traditional foods, and thanks to the initiative of his son Giuseppe, it became a “trattoria – pizzeria – friggitoria”.

And as a “friggitoria” Starita in 1954 offers logistical support with its equipment and workforce for the filming of the movie "L’oro di Napoli" in the famous episode that sees Sofia Loren wearing the role of a beautiful and adulterous pizza chef.

In the following years, with the third generation, Antonio Starita, the restaurant specializes more and more as a pizzeria, keeping an eye on the best tradition of Neapolitan pizza.

Antonio's commitment continues today with the contribution of his son Giuseppe, extending this long family tradition to the fourth generation.
